Cantaloupe

Lemon has been greatly popular around the world. And there are lots of varieties that can be eaten. You can find several lemon varieties with different sizes and shapes which tremendously give the right for you to choose.

Another breed of the lemon family is the cantaloupe. In olden times, cantaloupe is the name given to orange-fleshed lemons. And right now, if you have any variety of lemon that has orange flesh; that’s a cantaloupe.

Cantaloupe may have grown first in the forest of Africa and India. Columbus was said to have brought the cantaloupe to Europe. Right now, there are many varieties of cantaloupe that can be found in any country.

Rock melon or the Australian cantaloupe grows in the soil of the country continent. The North American cantaloupe has crossed skins and they usually grow in the Western frontier of the US and in Canada. You can also found other cantaloupe varieties in other countries.

More and more people are cultivating cantaloupe. New varieties are emerging due to continual genetic improvement. Most of cantaloupe plantations are in humid places with a little sunlight. The vine is not hostile to too much but cold climate may also damage the root of the plants.

The demand of more cantaloupe production and cultivation is seen to increase. The price of cantaloupe is high and more people are taking advantage of that.  Moreover, the health benefits of cantaloupe and its taste have motivated the great and surging demand of cantaloupe.

Cantaloupe is an alkaline fruit. Like all other lemons, it has low acid content which stimulates the alkalinity of the fruit as it undergoes digestion. The alkaline content of the fruit makes it a good prevention against degenerative diseases.

The pH level of cantaloupe is 8.5. The fruit pH level is in neutral alkaline. The highest alkaline is pH 14; the right balance of the acid and alkaline content of the body is very important to be sure that the body will not have a nutrient and chemical reaction imbalance.

Most experts side the idea of higher alkaline over acid. Most diseases that directly affect vital organs are low-alkaline reactors. Cantaloupe can greatly help to keep your alkaline content in a good state to ensure prevention against diseases these main illnesses.

The immune system of the body needs the right nutrients that will keep it in the right track. Vitamin C present in the cantaloupe helps the body to form a covalent with other nutrients like selenium and magnesium to fight diseases and harmful toxins.

The beta carotene and limonoid present in the cantaloupe are essential to keep the body’s vital organs working. Limonin in the cantaloupe juice allows the body to prevent the spread of diseases by isolation. Plus, other nutrients like flavonoid enhance the capacity of the body to develop strong immune system for body protection.

Cantaloupe may be expensive than other lemons but the benefits are tremendous and above what you can spend. An investment in health is worth it all.
