Almonds

Almonds are considered to be as nuts, yet scientifically speaking, it belongs to the family of peach, plum, and cherry. These are deciduous fruits that are originally found in Asia, North America, Europe, and Africa. It is believed to have originated in ancient China and Center Asia centuries ago.

The most delicious and healthy fruit is the almond. It comes in two tastes: sweet and bitter. It is commonly used in the kitchen as one of the ingredients in baking products. Aside from being an ingredient in baking products, almond also contains many nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, and carbohydrates. Because of the benefits that an almond can give, there is a booming industry in selling almond. In the North America, it has been a source of income by some families. It has also ranked 7 in the most exported fruit in Europe.

Almonds manufacture natural oils when taken in our body.  This natural oil makes our skin healthy and glow. Because of this, it is recommended to take at least one ounce of almond a day. An ounce of almonds has 170 calories wherein 12 % of this is composed of proteins, 2% of carbohydrates. 23% of low fat, 35% of vitamin E and the rest of the percentage belong to other nutritional content.

Almonds are also alkaline forming foods. Alkaline is essential to be consumed by our body because it compensates the acid that we have in the body system. The normal pH reading that our body must have is between 7.35 to 7.45. The neutral pH reading is 7. If the pH balance is below 7, then it means it is acidic. When it is acidic, there is a limited supply of water and oxygen in the body. However, then the pH balance is higher than 7, it means that it is rich in alkaline. The higher the pH reading the better it is because it means that there is enough supply of oxygen and water in the body.

The human body needs a balance of acid and alkaline content. If the body component is composed of mainly acid, then this is the start of many diseases such as arthritis and rheumatic diseases. People with high acid in the body system gets certain symptoms and conditions such as headache, irritation, poor digestion, and many other ailments. It is therefore important to maintain the required percentage of acid and alkaline, which is 20% acid and 80% alkaline. A balance of this is important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This will give a strong resistance to the body against infections and diseases. People must have a reserve of alkaline in the body in case of emergency by taking in more alkaline forming foods. The higher the alkaline you take the better it will be. The person will recover faster when he takes in higher amount of alkaline forming foods because it neutralizes the acids. Thus, it is significant to include in the diet of a sick person the foods that are rich in alkaline such as almonds.
